The advantage of a net hammock over a traditional hammock is the extra wide deck area. Hammocks from Brazil are often up to 1.60 wide. These are very well suited for 2 people. However, if more than two people participate in such a hammock in the garden space then it is tight. Not so with a hammock from Brazil.

For a net hammock the lying area usually has a length of 2.1 meters. The length of the hanging chords are about 1 meter per side. That makes a total of 4.1 meters.

This length of suspension is required, because then the network can fan out across the board. The suspension is less so from a matrimonial hammock only a hammock for two. The wider a hammock more comfortable. One can take almost any sleeping position and there are simply more people space.
